Cavapoo is a crossbreed between two pure breeds, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. Many dog owners call them Cavoodles instead of Cavapoo. Their cute appearance and small size make them look like a stuffed toy. They have become extremely popular, thanks to the thousands of dog owners who have welcomed the new crossbreed into their families. Cavapoos have an uncanny resemblance with cockapoos, and that’s why they are often considered their smaller cousins.

Appearance of Cavapoos

Every Cavapoo that you see will have a slightly different color, shape, size, and coat texture. This happens because of the parent dogs. Although experts believe that Cavapoos are hypoallergenic, some of the dogs may experience allergies that they inherit from their parents. Their cute round face with soft and floppy ears is worth a million bucks. Also, their eyes are full of expression, and that adds to their adorable looks. The length and texture of their coat differ from one Cavapoo to another. Most of them have silky coats that they inherit from the Cavalier.

Temperament of Cavapoos

Cavapoos are known for their friendly, loyal, and affectionate nature. They are fantastic as family pets. Your kids will love to be around them all the time as they can spend hours playing with their favorite doggo. Cavapoos are always happy. They greet their owners with a smile and will devote their time to you when you are home. However, you need to show the same dedication towards them too. Take some time out to train them and play with them. These dogs are highly intelligent and can remember any command quickly.

One thing you need to remember when you have a Cavapoo at home is they hate being left alone. They thrive in human company. Some dog owners complained that their Cavapoos started barking when they were not around for long periods. They can also become mischievous if you don’t pay attention to them. You wouldn’t want them to develop unwanted habits in your absence. So, train them to be disciplined, and they will always listen to you.

Health of Cavapoos

The average lifespan of Cavapoos range from 13 to 15 years. However, you need to feed them timely and feed them healthy food that suits their diet. Although most Cavapoos don’t suffer from significant diseases, there are a few health problems that they may experience:

• Mitral valve disease – it is a hereditary that the Cavapoo may inherit from the Cavalier. This condition may occur at the latter stages of the Cavapoo’s life when the heart is unable to function properly.
• Luxating patella – this is a condition where the kneecap dislocates from its normal position. So, make sure it doesn’t bang on a wall or any hard object.
• Hip dysplasia – improper growth of the hip joint leads to hip dysplasia, and your cute little Cavapoo will slowly become immobile if not treated on time.

If there is a breed of dogs that come with a package of joy, it is the Cavapoo. Your family’s new member will never disappoint with its activities. Instead, there will be laughter all around when it is home.
