Although there are a lot of commercial glass cleaning products available on the market, you can easily make your own. The best part is, you don’t need to buy fancy ingredients or spend a lot of money in the process. Instead, there are plenty of things that you probably already have around your house that you can use to safely and effectively clean everything from your windows to your mirrors.

One of the best household glass cleaners is vinegar. Even though it sounds extremely simple, all that you have to do is mix equal parts of vinegar and water and you have your own homemade glass cleaning

solution.

If you are going to try this, make sure that the bottle you put the cleaning solution in is totally clean. This is especially important if you are using an old bottle that came from some other type of cleaner. If you accidentally mix vinegar with certain cleaning products like bleach, it can create toxic fumes. To avoid any problems, you should thoroughly rinse out any bottles before adding your own glass cleaning products to them.

Alternatively, you can also pick up inexpensive spray bottles at the dollar store. This is an affordable way to get high-quality spray bottles that you can use for your own homemade cleaning products.

Another simple way to make glass cleaner is by combining rubbing alcohol with water. Pick up a cheap bottle of 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. You should be able to find it for less than a couple of dollars at any grocery store or drugstore.

Next, mix together 1 cup of rubbing alcohol with 3 cups of water. Pour the mixture into a clean spray bottle. Once it is mixed together, you can begin using it to clean glass. Simply spray it on the surface, allow it to set for a couple of seconds, and then wipe it away using a clean cloth. To avoid any streaks, continue wiping the surface with the cloth until it is completely dry.

To get even better results, consider using newspapers rather than paper towels or cloths when wiping down your windows. After you spray the cleaning solution on them, crumple up a sheet of newspaper and use it to dry the window. It won’t leave behind any streaks or lint, making it the ideal tool to use for cleaning windows.

If you are washing the outside of your windows, you can also try adding a few drops of dish soap to a bucket of warm water. Then, use a squeegee to scrub down the outside of your windows and squeegee the water away. Finish up by wiping away any drips or streaks with a crumpled piece of newspaper or a dry cloth.

Making your own glass cleaning solution is a lot easier than you might think. In essence, all you need to do is mix water with vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, or dish soap. Since they are all inexpensive to make, you can try experimenting with all three options to see which one you prefer.
